They had both served with the Shanghai Municipal Police and were experienced in martial arts which influenced the type of knife they considered the Commandos needed. Sykes idea was to create a knife that should be used delicately with surgical precision - ''as an artist uses his paint brush''. This classic design is what they came up with. This knife is made in Sheffield by the by the only remaining company authorised to use the name legitimately, and they have been making them since they were first introduced.
